Real Talk with Amanda Bell: Videa's Impact at Linrose Dental

How one independent dental practice is using AI to build patient trust, improve case acceptance, and bring clinical and insurance teams together.

After 30 years of running a dental practice in California, Amanda Bell and her husband, Dr. Brent Bell, decided to start fresh. In February 2026, they opened Linrose Dental in Utah, bringing decades of experience and a shared commitment to quality, patient-centered care.

For the Bells, technology should make it easier to deliver great care, not get in the way of it. With Videa integrated directly into Dentrix Ascend, their team is using AI to help patients better understand their oral health, support treatment recommendations, and strengthen insurance submissions.

The results? A reported 30-40% increase in case acceptance and approximately two hours saved each week.

We sat down with Amanda to hear how Videa is making a difference across their practice, from the operatory to the front office.

Tell us a little about Linrose Dental and what makes your practice unique.

Amanda Bell: My husband, Dr. Bell, and I have always been partners in everything we do. He leads the clinical care, and I run the business.

After 30 years in California, we sold our practice and started over in Utah, opening Linrose Dental from the ground up this February.

Our old tagline was "Love your dentist," and it still sums us up today: quality care over quantity. Dr. Bell makes every filling perfect, whether anyone will see it or not, and our front office goes the extra mile on insurance so patients don't have to.

We want patients to trust us and know they're in a safe place.

How does Videa fit into your everyday clinical workflow?

Amanda Bell: AI is a tool. There are people who let AI use them, and there are people who use AI.

We're on Dentrix Ascend, so Videa is built right in. Dr. Bell can read an X-ray in his sleep, but when he pulls up an image, the AI helps focus his attention on where to start, and seconds matter when you're seeing patients.

Dr. Brent Bell, DDS, Owner & Dentist, Linrose Dental:

"I've been reading X-rays for 30 years, and I still want every tool that helps me take better care of my patients. Videa shows me where to look first, and it lets my patients see what I see. When they understand the why, they trust the treatment."

Who on your team uses Videa, and how has it changed the way you work together?

Amanda Bell: Everyone, from hygiene to Dr. Bell to the front office.

Our hygienist uses the findings to walk patients through SRP recommendations. Dr. Bell uses it at every exam to guide his review and show patients what he sees.

On the business side, our insurance team and I use the same findings to support claims.

Having one shared view of the patient means the whole team tells the same story, from the operatory to the insurance submission. Altogether, it saves us about two hours a week.

You've seen a 30-40% increase in case acceptance. What's driving that change?

Amanda Bell: Patients can't see inside their mouths, and most can't read an X-ray, so building trust can be hard.

Showing them on the image what Dr. Bell is talking about makes a real difference. It turns a diagnosis into a conversation.

We saw major gains in case acceptance for early caries treatment and SRPs; a 30–40% increase overall.

Perio is where it helps most, because patients can't see it or feel it. When they see bone levels on their own X-ray, it clicks.

We can explain that periodontal disease affects their overall health, not just their gums, and they understand why Dr. Bell is recommending treatment.

How are you using Videa to support insurance claims and reduce friction on the administrative side?

Amanda Bell: SRPs are one of the most scrutinized procedures right now. We were seeing denials that cited no visible bone loss, so now every SRP claim goes out with Videa's bone loss findings included.

The first submission is always the best chance to get it right, so I include everything that supports the claim up front.

Many of those claims have been paid. For a few that weren't, we shared the evidence with the state insurance board, and some denials were reconsidered.

It gives us a clear, objective starting point for the conversation.

What would you tell another practice considering dental AI?

Amanda Bell: The more practices submit clear evidence, the better it gets for everyone.

It helps carriers see the full picture, and over time it can shift how the whole industry handles these claims.

Periodontal disease affects patients' overall health in ways they may not realize. When a patient hears their insurance didn't cover treatment, we can show them exactly why they need it.

Better conversations. Stronger workflows. More connected care.

At Linrose Dental, AI isn't replacing clinical experience or the personal relationships that make a practice successful. It's helping a small team make the most of both.

From helping patients understand treatment recommendations to providing supporting evidence for insurance submissions, Videa gives the Linrose team a more consistent way to communicate across the entire patient journey.

For Amanda and Dr. Bell, that's what matters: giving patients the confidence to understand their care while making everyday workflows a little easier for the people delivering it.
